Swim Between The Flags....

Hello Everyone :)

This week some of you may have seen the video I made "Swim Between The Flags." Hopefully the message got out out in to cyber space on where to swim not only at Bondi but for every patrolled beach in Australia. The reason I made the video not only for a good laugh, Its the message that is important

Tragically 61 confirmed drownings happened in Australia last year.

Also the other messages in the video is to wear sunscreen when you are outdoors especially at the beach I can only give you the Australian statistics, Just be sun smart wherever you are in the world.

Australia has the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, with two in every three Australians developing skin cancer before the age of seventy. More than 440,000 Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer every year - 374,000 with non melanoma skin cancer and 10,600 with melanoma. Over 1,600 people die from skin cancer each year.

Enjoy the video if you have not seen it.

This week on Traveler Checks with Maxi and Beardy.

We interview a lady from Indonesia this week.
Our aim is to get a few nationality's on traveler checks to give the international viewers of my blog a little custom insight on why they love Australia and why they are in Bondi.

Fitness/ Health Tip Of The Week.

If you have never done yoga or Pilate's before I would suggest you try, Its relaxing you get a good stretch and you turn on muscles you wouldn't usually use. Funny enough I went through a yoga stage a couple of months ago I really liked it both physically and mentally. Get stretching :)

On A Final Note

This is what I believe in and we tend to forget about ourselves.

Just remember no one knows you better than you already know your self.
don't change for anyone. In life you cant please everyone but don't let that stop you being who you are and what you believe in. At the end of the day you are the one that needs to believe in your self if you worry about what others think then you will have no time to worry about yourself and the thing is you need to look after is yourself both mentally and physically.

I hope you all have a safe and great week and hope you enjoyed this post

All the best

A Walk In The Park

Hello And Welcome Back.

This week has been a good week and I hope you all enjoyed it wherever you are in the world.

Centennial Park Sydney.

After a long week on the beach there is nothing better than a nice stroll around Centennial Park. It’s about a 3.5 km loop I recommend if you want to get some fresh air and clear the mind get the IPod out bang on some tunes and go for a walk. Even if you don't live in Sydney go to your local park or beach and go for a stroll you will be surprised how relaxing it is.

As you all know I do like a tune that fits with what you are doing so I think this song would go good walking around a park

In Other News.

Last Monday Myself , Reidy, Bisho, Corey, Bacon were asked to do a runway walk for Bendon Underwear. I was so nervous soon as it was my turn to do the walk I tripped over and jarred my big toe I was so embarrassed everyone thought it was hilarious.

Fun Stand up Paddle In The Harbour

On Friday myself Kerr box and Lozza went for a 2 hr Stand up paddle in the harbour, the water was glassy the sun was shining it was absolutely beautiful. I recommend you do this if you are in Sydney.
A mate of mine Belly runs a Stand up rental and lesson business in Rose Bay check it out you will love it.

10 years on

Hello and welcome back I hope you are all well.

Lest We Forget

Just a little note my thoughts and prayers go out to all the 202 victims and people affected by the 2002 Bali bombings I can’t believe it’s been 10 years, I was in Bali on that tragic night I was a very young chap I remember the night being absolute mayhem, I have been to Bali over 20 times it is a beautiful island in Indonesia.
Bali is a good part of the world, the people are friendly, the food is great and most of all the landscape of the beaches and country side is wonderful. Bali accommodate for all different types of people you can go on holidays with your family, friends, back packing, surf trip, solo session ect.
A quick TIP (a few places below)
  • Kuta - Legian: If you like shopping, lots of people, the beach, and a little dance at night this is the place to be.
  • Seminyak: Similar to Kuta and Legian but its a little more quiet and pretty family orientated some great shops and nice beaches. More expensive restaurants.
  • Uluwatu: Every surfer that is in Bali will go and see this place, around Uluwatu there are some beautiful resorts and bungalows it is very quiet not really any nightlife good for a couple or friends relaxing. And some very good surfing reefs but make sure if you do go surfing here you are experienced.

I recommend you all visit the beautiful island of Bali.

SUNSCREEN

In Other news I am still getting this (song, dance) ready to put up hopefully next week.

A couple of Fitness tips from Cam

If you are on the lounge watching television, during the ad breaks try and belt out
  • 10 push ups
  • 10 sit ups
  • 10 squats
  • 10 lunges
  • 10 dips

Do these exercises each ad break, there is roughly 3-6 sets of ads when watching TV so try it out.

Healthy eating tip

The trick is to eat heaps of healthy snacks during the day so when it comes to lunch and dinner you can eat in moderation. Drink plenty of water.
If you don't have a television or you just want to work out to a song I recommend this. THIS IS MY FAV

I hope you all have a great week be safe and put a smile on your dile.

Been A Good Bloody Week !!

Hello And Welcome Back

Hope you are all well this week, It has been a very busy two weeks for the lifeguards especially at Bondi we have been getting great weather and when you get good warm weather it brings every punter from local to surrounding suburbs to tourists. Unfortunately this week the rubbish that was left on our beautiful beaches was disgusting so if your reading this and you were at the beach in the last two weeks and left rubbish, maybe in your own home you like sitting in rubbish but don't bring it to the beach put your rubbish in the bin...( that's my personal rant this week ) Anyway this week we have had some really bad fin chops and some bad face injuries from surfing, I understand everyone that has never been to the beach wants to learn to surf. Before you learn make sure you can lie on the board properly. Surf the broken waves to start off with and don't go out when its (rough, big waves, rippy, shallow sandbank etc) start off on a foam board (soft) not Fiber glass (hard) ask a lifeguard or a good experienced surfer for some tips, And remember surf in designated surfing areas not in between the red and yellow flags that is for swimmers only. It’s sad to see so many injuries that happen to beginner surfers (below are some photos of the injuries this week).

Caution if you don't like cuts don't look

I have a feeling that it’s going to be a very busy summer, the amount of crowds that have been around the beaches lately is crazy last Thursday we had at least 20,000 people on the beach even though its school holidays you would think no body bloody works hahahaha

Now to the funny stuff This week on Beardys rant myself and Beardy had a rant on " Flat rock " If you do come to Bondi and go swimming off these rocks there is a good chance that you will draw blood. Don’t be stupid and go out there. We will provide first aid but remember you are taking a lifeguard (a set of eyes off the water) to treat your silly wounds.

I can officially say that there is going to be a new addition to my Blog, I am currently writing some lyrics and getting some tunes together and singing about a few of the lifeguards, If I get a good response from all of you at home ill work even harder to get it all together. Not only a song but I am going to try and do film clips of it as well to give you all a laugh :)

A Teddy To Cool Young Bloke was getting around the beach the other day doing wheelies on a pushbike I thought it was pretty funny, I am giving him credit he did pretty well on the wheelie it gets better about 5 minutes later a Korean man ran up to the tower and In broken English said "Hello I do Gangnam style" I couldn't help but film this moment. Below I have combined the videos to a song I reckon they go to.

“We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private map, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities."

I hope you all enjoyed this Post until next time lots of love
